About Us

Loaves and Fishes is a safety-net food program serving the hungry living in Contra Costa County. For over 40 years Loaves and Fishes has provided hunger relief to individuals, families, seniors, disadvantaged youth and people with disabilities. Over the years we have become a reliable and reputable food program in Contra Costa County. Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa serves 2,400 meals a day through five dining rooms across the county, as well as our new mobile unit, which serves partner agencies, providing food to those who cannot afford to put food on their table. We serve anyone in need of food. Also, we have a free workforce development program through culinary classes from the Loaves and Fishes' Culinary Training Program for adults experiencing barriers to employment.
The mission of Loaves and Fishes is to provide community-based food programs and partner services that focus on basic needs. We nourish lives!
