About Us

Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa (LFCC) is a safety-net food program serving anyone in need in Contra Costa County.  For more than 39 years LFCC has provided hunger relief to individuals, families, seniors, disadvantaged youth and people with disabilities. Over the years we have become a reliable and reputable food program in Contra Costa County. We continue to serve anyone in need nutritious food, provide a food pantry for groceries and have a workforce development program by providing culinary classes through the LFCC Culinary Training Program for adults experiencing barriers to employment. LFCC is currently serving more than 1,500 meals a day from 5 dining rooms in the county: Antioch, Martinez, Pittsburg, Oakley and Walnut Creek. (Martinez and Pittsburg dining rooms serve 7 days a week and the other dining rooms serve weekdays.) The mission of LFCC is to provide community-based food programs and partner services that focus on basic needs.  We nourish lives!
St. Vincent de Paul of Contra Costa County (SVdP), provides person-to-person service of time, talent and resources to help neighbors in need regardless of gender, national origin, religion or any other distinction. SVdP is a network of friends, inspired by Gospel values, growing in holiness and building a more just work through personal relationships with and service to people in need. SVdP has helped to feed, clothe, shelter and heal our vulnerable neighbors in Contra Costa for over 58 years. Annually, SVdP delivers over $1.8 million of direct aid, (rent, utility assistance, etc.), and over $2.3 million of in-kind aid, (food, medical & dental care, job training and more). SVdP's 700 volunteers assist over 70,000 Contra Costa residents annually from our 29 branches throughout the county.
