About Us

Loaves and Fishes is a safety-net food program serving anyone in need in Contra Costa County.  For over 39 years Loaves and Fishes has provided hunger relief to individuals, families, seniors, disadvantaged youth and people with disabilities. Over the years we have become a reliable and reputable food program in Contra Costa County. We continue to serve anyone in need nutritious food, provide a food pantry and have a workforce development program by providing culinary classes through the Loaves and Fishes Culinary Arts Training Program for adults experiencing barriers to employment. Loaves and Fishes serves a daily hot meal from 5 dining rooms in the county: Antioch, Martinez, Pittsburg, Oakley and Walnut Creek. As part of its expansion plan, Loaves and Fishes is now taking food to where people are with its new mobile delivery unit.

The mission of Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa is to provide community-based food programs and partner services that focus on basic needs.  We nourish lives!
