About Us

Loaves and Fishes is a safety-net food program serving the hungry living in Contra Costa County.  For over 36 years Loaves and Fishes has provided hunger relief to individuals, families, seniors, disadvantaged youth and people with disabilities. Over the years we have become a reliable and reputable food program in Contra Costa County. This fiscal year we are continuing to serve the hungry nutritious food, provide a food pantry and just recently started a workforce development program by providing culinary classes through the Loaves and Fishes Culinary Training Program for adults experiencing barriers to employment. The mission of Loaves and Fishes of Contra Costa is to provide community-based food programs and partner services that focus on basic needs.  We nourish lives!

St. Vincent de Paul of Contra Costa County provides person-to-person service of time, talent and resources to help neighbors in need regardless of gender, national origin, race, or religion. St. Vincent de Paul is a network of friends, inspired by Gospel values, growing in holiness and building a more just world through personal relationships with and service to people in need. SVdP of Contra Costa County is one of the most-trusted safety-net non-profit organizations, with a history of providing service in Contra Costa for over 54 years. All of the donations received and services provided benefit the people in need of Contra Costa County. St. Vincent de Paul provides help to struggling individuals and families in Contra Costa via a Family Resource Center in Pittsburg, 29 parish-based branches throughout the county, and three Thrift Stores. Annually, St. Vincent de Paul delivers over $1.5 million in food, clothing, furniture, rental assistance, employment & training, shelter, and health & dental services for the uninsured.
